1. Audio and Voice Privacy (Zero Voice Data Collection)

Your spoken words, voice timbre, and microphone stream are treated with the highest degree of privacy:

• No Cloud Audio Transmission: Your microphone input and processed audio are never transmitted over the internet or sent to external servers, cloud services, or artificial intelligence inference APIs.
• No Audio Recording or Disk Storage: MicMorph processes audio samples entirely in temporary volatile memory (RAM) and directly outputs them to the virtual audio device. The application does not write audio files, recordings, or voice transcripts to disk.
• No Voice Fingerprinting: MicMorph does not generate, analyze, or retain biometric voice prints, acoustic profiles, or speaker identification templates.

2. Anonymous Telemetry & Usage Analytics (PostHog)

To ensure application stability, diagnose crashes, measure performance, and understand how features are utilized, we collect aggregate, non-personally identifiable telemetry data through PostHog on our website and within our desktop application.

What is collected:

• Feature Interaction Events: Anonymous event notifications such as pitch presets chosen (e.g. Subtle, Medium, Deep, Deepest), active pitch value, voice mode adjustments, or sample playback on our website.
• Call Session Duration: The aggregate duration of an active morphing session (in seconds) to understand session length and prevent stability issues during extended calls.
• System Environment: Operating system version (e.g. macOS), device architecture (e.g. Apple Silicon aarch64), application version, and technical error/crash traces.

What is NEVER collected:

• We NEVER record, intercept, or transmit any audio, microphone data, spoken words, or transcripts.
• We NEVER collect personal identifiers such as your full name, email address, physical address, phone number, or biometric data.
• We NEVER sell, rent, monetize, or disclose your telemetry data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Mac

MicMorph stores a minimal, human-readable configuration file strictly on your local device (in ~/Library/Application Support/com.micmorph.desktop/). This file contains only:

• Your last selected voice preset (e.g. Subtle, Medium, Deep, Deepest) and custom pitch shift values.
• Your selected input microphone device ID/name.
• Local session timestamps.

This data is stored purely for your convenience so your preferences persist when reopening the application. It is never uploaded to any remote server.

4. Virtual Audio Driver (BlackHole)

MicMorph routes processed audio locally via BlackHole, an open-source virtual audio driver created by Existential Audio Inc. The BlackHole kernel driver runs locally on your machine to transfer audio buffers between apps. It operates completely offline, contains no network capabilities, and does not collect or transmit any data.

5. Website Cookies and Local Storage

Our website uses minimal local browser storage (such as localStorage) solely to remember your UI preference (dark mode vs. light mode). We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or commercial tracking networks.

6. Children's Privacy

MicMorph does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate measures.

7. GDPR & CCPA Compliance (Data Subject Rights)

Because MicMorph operates on an anonymous, local-first model, we do not associate telemetry data with your personal identity or account. However, to the extent applicable under data protection laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), you have the right to request information about our data practices or request cessation of telemetry. You may also block outbound network traffic from the desktop app using any standard macOS firewall (such as Little Snitch or LuLu) without impacting real-time audio modulation functionality.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements in our application or changes in legal requirements. We encourage you to review this page occasionally. Updates are effective upon publication.
